Midnight Deadline Day News: Tottenham, Celtic and Fletcher latest

The window is shut but Celtic, West Brom, West Ham, Hull City, Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur have remained busy.

Sky Sports are reporting that Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor is going to be staying at Tottenham. West Ham reportedly wanted him, but Spurs are not keen on selling him to local and league rivals and that deal fell through. QPR were also keen but a move was left too late.

Celtic have completed a deal for Dundee United attacker Gary Mackay-Steven. He had agreed a move to join when his contract expired in the summer, but Celtic have now confirmed the deal has been made early to Sky Sports News.

West Brom are still hoping to tie up moves for both Carlton Cole of West Ham and Manchester United's Darren Fletcher, report the Daily Star. However Sky Sports are reporting the Cole deal has collapsed after West Ham pulled the plug.

Just before the deadline shut Southampton confirmed a permanent deal for Ryan Bertrand. He had been on loan at the club.

Tottenham have signed Dele Alli and the player will be loaned back to MK Dons, confirmation is still being awaited, the club have confirmed.

Newcastle United have sent five players on loan to Rangers, according to Sky Sports. The players in question are Gaël Bigirimana, Kevin Mbabu, Shane Ferguson, Remie Streete and Haris Vučkić - as confirmed by the NUFC Twitter account.

Celtic are chasing the signing of Dundee United striker Stuart Armstrong, report the Daily Record. The window in Scotland is now shut, but the deal could still be finalised after they signed Mackay-Steven.

Hull City are struggling to finalise a deal for Dame N'Doye of Lokomotiv Moscow, according to The Mirror.

Done Deals

Chelsea have confirmed the arrival of Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina.

Chelsea have also announced the departure of fellow wide man Andre Schurrle, who heads back to the Bundesliga to join Wolfsburg.

Newcastle United full back Davide Santon has re-signed for former club Inter Milan on loan for remainder of the season.

Southampton have announced the arrival of Serbian international Filip Djuricic, with the promising winger joining from Benfica on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Everton have confirmed they have signed Aaron Lennon on a season long loan deal.

Crystal Palace have completed the permanent signing of Manchester United's Wilfried Zaha. The player has been on loan at the club. They have also signed Lee Chung-Yong from Bolton Wanderers.
