Leeds United have signed Edgar Cani on loan from Catania, according to the club’s official Twitter account.
The Championship outfit have announced that they have signed the 25-year-old forward on loan for the rest of the season.
West Yorkshire club Leeds have also stated the Albania international will wear the number 10 shirt, after the Football League allowed Granddi Ngoyi to swap to number 6.
Leeds are looking to sign players in order to enhance their chances of survival in the Championship.
From that perspective, an extra player who has played internationally is not a bad option, especially when one considers that it is a loan move.
However, Cani is hardly a household name and is far from what one would call a prolific striker. He is a targetman, which suits Neil Redfearn’s style of football, but one must not expect too much from him, at least not in the initial weeks.
