The Egyptian forward had appeared set for a move to Fiorentina as part of the deal involving Juan Cuadrado, but talks have reportedly failed to progress.

Chelsea midfielder Mohamed Salah is no closer to signing with Serie A club Fiorentina, according to fresh reports from Italy.

The 22-year-old had been expected to sign with La Viola on loan until the end of the season as part of the deal that would potentially see winger Juan Cuadrado move in the opposition direction.

However, Salah’s move to Italy has been thrown into doubt by TuttoMercatoWeb, with the website citing an exclusive report from ATAHOTEL that suggests the deal may yet fail to be completed.

According to the report, negotiations been the Egyptian star and Fiorentina have failed to progress with time running out for the club and player to reach an agreement.

Salah arrived at Chelsea from Swiss side Basel last January, having scored against the Blues in the Champions League both home and away last term.

To date he has made 18 appearances for the Stamford Bridge outfit, scoring two goals, but has so far featured just seven times for Jose Mourinho’s team this term and has been linked with a move away from west London for some time.

An experienced international, Salah has scored 20 goals in 35 appearances for the Pharaohs.
