Former QPR and Tottenham midfielder says Harry Redknapp should gamble on Emmanuel Adebayor

Jermaine Jenas is sure that the Togolese striker would be a hit on loan at QPR.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor has been linked with an exit from the club this month, as he struggles to play regular football under new boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Redknapp turned Adebayor's career around with a loan spell at Spurs after a struggle at Manchester City.

But he is now struggling for first-team football at Tottenham, with the form of Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen as a pair keeping him on the sidelines.

QPR were linked with the player earlier in the week by Sky Sports and that has continued into transfer deadline day.

One player who thinks QPR should take the plunge on the player is Jermaine Jenas. Himself a former Tottenham and QPR player, Jenas told BBC Sport earlier this evening that QPR should gamble on the Togolese striker:

"I would take a risk on Emmanuel Adebayor. Harry Redknapp has got the best out of him in the past and they are in a situation where they can't buy anybody. Loan deals are the only option.

"I don't think Adebayor would ever go permanently to QPR. The wages will be split and I'd take a punt on him. It could keep you in the league."

The Togolese striker has not been a regular at Spurs this season. He has played just 11 Premier League games this season and scored just two goals so far this season.

He was given a leave of absence by the club in December to return to Togo for 'personal reasons'.
