Done deal: Arsenal linked Daniele Rugani completes Juventus move for €3.5m

The Italian defender will spend the rest of the season back out on loan at Empoli.

Earlier this week it was reported that Arsenal were ready to add one more big defensive option to the club's current crop, with a move for Empoli talent Daniele Rugani.

The Daily Star were reporting that Arsenal had eyed up Rugani to follow up the arrival of Gabriel Paulista from Villarreal.

The Italian has been excellent in Serie A this season, to the point he even earned a call up to the full Italian squad under Antonio Conte.

The 20-year-old will not however be on his way to Arsenal now, nor is it likely he will in the summer - as Rugani has moved elsewhere.

He is staying in Italy, joining the Serie A champions and league leaders Juventus earlier today. The Bianconeri have reportedly spent €3.5 million to sign the remaining 50 per cent of the rights they did not own of the player in a co-ownership deal with Empoli, as reported by their official website.

They also confirmed he would remain with Empoli on loan for the rest of the season and had signed a deal to stay with Juve until June 2019.

Rugani has played 21 games for Empoli this season in Serie A.
