The Serbian defender netted his first goals for Chelsea in 2009, netting twice at Anfield to ease the Blues passage to the Champions League semi-finals.
He has since scored a number of match-winning goals for the West London club, culminating with his most recent strike once again downing Liverpool to book a Wembley date in the League Cup, and he has discussed his favourite goals with the official Chelsea website.
He was instrumental in securing a place in the 2012 Champins League Final, having netted a powerful drive against Napoli in the knock-out stages, although he unfortunately missed the final through suspension. However, he took to the field the following year in the Europa League Final, and went someway to making up for his absence by scoring the winning goal over Benfica with a last-minute header.
Although ending last season without any silverware, Ivanovic enjoyed a productive season on a personal level, and he played a key role in the 1-0 victory at the Etihad Stadium, netting the winner with a strike from the edge of the box.
He has been in good goalscoring form this term, and his header against Liverpool took him to three for the season. Speaking to the official Blues website, the 30-year-old addressed his goal against Liverpool.
He said: “Liverpool on Tuesday was very important, maybe it didn’t make the difference because we did well and didn’t concede so we would have gone through on away goals, but for me personally it is important and a nice moment.”
Ivanovic continued to address his favourite goals, and revealed which was the most important of his career.
“I don’t really have a favourite of those goals,” the Serbian added. “All of them were important for the team, important goals in big matches.
“With the Europa League final, scoring a goal that gives a trophy for the team is of course important and, maybe, the most important goal because it gave us a European trophy. It is something special in the last minute, and of course I am still happy about it.
“All these goals helped the team, but because it is not my main job there is not the pressure on me to do it, and so I am more relaxed.”
