The left-back is not likely to be moving out in loan as he will be under the knife on Deadline Day.
This week West Ham defender Dan Potts has been linked with a move away from the club. It was reported by the Blackpool Gazette earlier this week that the left-back was being targeted on a loan deal by The Seasiders.
However Potts would appear to be going nowhere as he has confirmed on Twitter that he is set to undergone surgery on an unspecified ailment.
Potts, who would have become the 50th Blackpool player of the season, looked all set to complete his move to the club, but this injury would seem to rule out any potential deal.
Here is the Tweet in question...
Op tomorrow... Fingers crossed all goes to plan— Dan Potts (@DanPotts03) February 1, 2015
Potts has played just two Premier League games for the club and has played just once this season, in the Capital One Cup tie against Sheffield United back in August, which they lost on penalties.
It is a real shame for Potts that a potential loan move looks to be out of the question.
He has even received a warm message from fellow West Ham player Matt Jarvis, who wished him well in the operation.
“@DanPotts03: Op tomorrow... Fingers crossed all goes to plan ”all the best pal!— Matt Jarvis (@MrMattJarvis) February 1, 2015
He would have been desperate for some first-team football after his severe lack of action in West Ham colours. But it looks like he will now have to simply focus on getting back fit before considering his future at the club.
