The Liverpool loanee did not impress supporters against Tottenham yesterday afternoon.
Liverpool loanee Andre Wisdom has enjoyed some highs during his West Brom career so far. There have been times when the young full-back has impressed his new fans and left supporters of his parent club wondering why on Earth they loaned him out.
Then, there have been times like yesterday, when Wisdom frustrated West Brom supporters during his side’s 3-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur.
Now, the tables have turned to such an extent that some are even calling (perhaps jokingly) for the 21-year-old to be sent back to Liverpool.
Wisdom was the subject of much ire from West Brom fans on Twitter after their comfortable Tottenham loss. A Christian Eriksen free-kick and Harry Kane double brought reality back into Tony Pulis’s West Brom tenure, with the Welshman previously enjoying an unperturbed time at the Hawthorns.
And Liverpool loanee Wisdom was singled out for his poor display. So much so, in fact, that the home crowd greeted his being substituted with cheers.
Many West Brom fans felt this was a step too far, however, as plenty of their tweets showed. But that did not necessarily excuse Wisdom’s performance against Tottenham.
Here’s some of the best West Brom Twitter reaction to the 21-year-old Liverpool loanee’s display…
I've seen ships turn quicker than Andre Wisdom #wba— Lewis Botfield (@LewisBotfield) January 31, 2015
Can anyone please tell me why Wisdom plays every game ? I think he's the worst RB for many years #wba— steve WBA (@stevhc) January 31, 2015
If I was Pulis i would send Wisdom back to Liverpool. #wba— Nigel Marriott (@NMarriottWBA) January 31, 2015
Ironic cheering for wisdom going off isn't productive. We didn't sing one song today and the liquidator was flat #WBA— Andrew Beech (@beechyboy90) January 31, 2015
I was embarrassed at cheers when Wisdom substituted. Yes he and we were poor but "support" didn't help #wba— Duncan Jones (@duncanjones64) January 31, 2015
