According to a report in the Daily Star, Yevhen Konoplyanka will decide whether to move to Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur having rejected the chance to move to Italian side Roma.
The 25-year-old winger has long been linked with both clubs but for now he remains at Dnipro, where his contract expires in the summer.
As a result, his current club will have to sell him in what remains of the winter transfer window or risk seeing him leave for free just a few months later.
The latest report claims Konoplyanka will now pick between two sides that could both do with an additional creative player who can operate on either wing or as a secondary striker if required.
The Ukraine international has played 189 matches for Dnipro, scoring 41 goals and providing 34 assists in that time.
His talent is undeniable but one wonders if both clubs are ultimately to be left disappointed as happened following similar rumours in previous transfer windows.
Recent quotes attributed to the player – and included in the report – cite Liverpool as a potential option but the latest story suggests Tottenham remain in the race for the international.
When you consider the wingers at the Reds’ disposal, a move to White Hart Lane may make more sense if some of their current wide-men are moved on in the coming hours.
