Manchester United transfer round-up: Brazilian set for Monday medical and Fletcher latest

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

The Daily Mail reports that Manchester United midfielder Anderson looks set to sign for Brazilian club Internacional on transfer deadline day.

The former FC Porto player has rarely featured for United in recent times, having to make do with under-21 appearances.

Anderson signed for United along with Nani (who arrived from Sporting Lisbon) in a multi-million-pound double deal greeted with plenty of fanfare, but he has failed to live up to expectations and is now approaching the end of his contract at Old Trafford.

The report claims the United player has been offered a four-year deal worth in the region of £25,000-a-week after tax and that he is due to undertake a medical on Monday.

In other news, the Sunday Mirror reports that United are prepared to make David de Gea the best-paid goalkeeper in the game to ensure he signs a new long-term deal at the club.

However, the report goes on to claim that United will have to include a buy-out clause that is allegedly being requested by the player’s representatives.

And finally, the Daily Mail reports that United midfielder Darren Fletcher is back on West Bromwich Albion’s radar after his potential move to West Ham United collapsed.

Darren Fletcher reportedly travelled to London for a medical but the move is said to have fallen through when the Hammer pursued a loan deal rather than a permanent option, seemingly putting the Baggies back in the race.
