Liverpool transfer round-up: €24m summer move link and striker's potential loan switch

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Liverpool

According to the Sunday People, Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert is a target for Premier League rivals Crystal Palace and Hull City.

The report claims they are among a number of clubs considering a loan move for the England international, who has failed to hit the heights following his summer transfer from Southampton.

Lambert had a wonderful scoring record at St Mary’s but he has failed to replicate that at Anfield, and following the return from injury of Daniel Sturridge, the report claims he could be available for loan even though Brendan Rodgers has not indicated as such at this time.

In other news, Spanish newspaper El Confidencial claims Liverpool are interested in a summer move for Real Madrid midfielder Asier Illarramendi and could bid in the region of €24million for the player.

The report goes on to claim that the Reds may ask their former player Xabi Alonso for a recommendation before moving forward.

And finally, the Daily Star claims Liverpool and Arsenal have been offered Real full-back Fabio Coentrao but that neither side is interested.

The Portuguese international’s name is wheeled out every transfer window and this one has proved no different.

But both sides need to strengthen in other positions, leaving a move for Coentrao highly unlikely.
