The day has finally come as the much-anticipated Scottish League Cup semi-final clash between Celtic and Rangers takes place later today – and soon the talking will be done out on the Hampden Park pitch.
But in one of the final player interviews released before the Celtic – Rangers tie, Miller, of the Gers but who has also turned out for the Hoops, was asked about young Guidetti’s League Cup comments from earlier in the season.
Back before the draw for the last four was made, the 22-year-old Celtic forward (on loan from Manchester City) said he would score a hat-trick regardless of who he faced in the semi-final.
Experienced Rangers man Miller, though, has had his say on the young Swede: "Over the years, you have seen so many players, new players, young players – even older players to be honest with you – making silly statements about games.
“To think this is going to be a one-sided affair and make big statements about scoring hat-tricks or whatever is a bit foolish.”
Rangers currently sit second in the Scottish Championship, with Celtic top of the Scottish Premiership. But, as Miller is keen to point out, cup ties can skew the difference between any two given sides.
Kick-off at Hampden Park is at 1.30pm.
