Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane continued his impressive form this season on Saturday, scoring twice against West Bromwich Albion.
The England Under-21 international found the target in the 15th minute at The Hawthorns to make it 2-0 to Spurs, and wrapped up the scoring in the 64th minute from the penalty spot.
The brace saw Kane take his tally for the season to 20 goals in all competitions, including 10 in the Premier League.
Tottenham great Gary Lineker was following Kane’s performance against West Brom and took to social networking site Twitter to sing his praises.
Former Spurs chairman Lord Sugar was also watching the game, and he asked Lineker if Kane is better than him, to which the 54-year-old gave a rather amusing reply.
“@GaryLineker: Fabulous finish from Harry Kane. He gets better and better.”.....do you think he is better than you were .... Hah— Lord Sugar (@Lord_Sugar) January 31, 2015
It is clear that Lord Sugar was pulling Lineker’s leg, and it is interesting to note how the former England international avoided answering him directly.
Kane is not at Lineker’s level and will not be for a few more years at least, but his form and development over the past few months cannot be ignored.
The 21-year-old is one of the best young English players and one of the key members of the Tottenham team.
