The 19-year-old duo impressed during the 5-0 drubbing of the Villans.
But there was still so much to cheer for Arsenal supporters as the Gunners absolutely dismantled Paul Lambert's men en route to a 5-0 win.
Mesut Ozil impressed, Santi Cazorla impressed, Francis Coquelin impressed.
And it didn't end just there for the north London side. Indeed, not only were there signs that Arsenal could enjoy a promising 2015 against Aston Villa, there were exceedingly bright signs for the future.
Two of those signs shone brightest at 19 years of age. Hector Bellerin, for one, was superb once again at right-back, netting his first ever Premier League goal to round off the 5-0 win. And Chuba Akpom also showed glimpses of brilliance up front, winning a penalty for Arsenal and generally causing problems for Aston Villa in the final third.
The young duo have been with the Gunners for a number of years, progressing through the youth ranks, waiting patiently for their breakthrough.
For Bellerin, this season has been his biggest so far, while Akpom is now gradually being given the same chances.
Here's a selection of the best Twitter reaction to their displays against Aston Villa:
Bellerin is such a big talent, slotting into the first team really well. Thought Akpom also was brilliant again off the bench today. #afc— Ryan (@_RyanAFC) February 1, 2015
Bellerin is such a class rb his pace his forward thinking his vision and his crossing you can see why jenkinson will never make it #AFC— TheArsenalWay (@lukempestar) February 1, 2015
Akpom is more than capable of reaching Sturridge level and beyond. Great potential just hope we tie him down with a new contract. #afc— William (@William_U21) February 1, 2015
