Arsenal produced a superb performance to destroy Aston Villa 5-0 at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon.
Striker Olivier Giroud opened the scoring for the Gunners, running clean through on goal before dinking the ball over Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan and into the net.
Villa managed to keep it to just the one goal at half time, but the second half couldn't have gone much worse, the Arsene Wenger's men running riot.
Giroud fed Mesut Ozil through on the left hand side, with the German placing the ball past the despairing dive of Guzan and into the net.
Midfielder Santi Cazorla then found Theo Walcott, who cut inside and slotted the ball into the far corner for 3-0, before Chuba Akpom was sent sprawling in the box by Guzan, with Cazorla stepping up to convert the penalty to make it four with 15 minutes to play.
Right back Hector Bellerin added gloss to the win in the dying seconds, finishing coolly from 20 yards to put Villa out of their misery.
Arsenal move up to fifth, leapfrogging North London rivals Arsenal, whilst Villa's goal concerns continue, leaving them in 16th place in the Premier League table.
