The former Queens Park Rangers star took to Twitter during the 3-1 loss to Stoke.
QPR lost yet another away match at Stoke City on Saturday afternoon - a Jonathan Walters hat-trick condemning them to a 3-1 defeat that extended the R's' embarrassment on the road.
For a period, however, Marsh believes the west London side controlled the game at Stoke while they played with two up front.
As such, the ex-QPR man feels Redknapp should start with that formation away from home, instead of only playing one up top.
QPR on top 2nd half ! Here's a thought... Why not start 4-4-2 Away ??— Rodney Marsh (@RodneyMarsh10) January 31, 2015
Marsh was also critical of the defending for the first three goals of the encounter - a reflection that applied to both QPR and Stoke.
QPR v Stoke- 3 goals not a single defensive challenge - Shocking defending— Rodney Marsh (@RodneyMarsh10) January 31, 2015
What must be considered, however, is that QPR still went on to concede one more goal to Mark Hughes' Stoke side, as the Welshman beat the club that sacked him in his last Premier League job before taking over at the Britannia Stadium.
Right now, meanwhile, whatever Redknapp tries appears doomed to fail away from Loftus Road. Is there any hope for the hapless R's on the road?
