Erik Lamela wants to see 'aggressive' Spurs - starting at West Brom

The Tottenham Hotspur man wants his side to build on their recent success - starting at West Brom later today.

Erik Lamela wants to see an aggressive Spurs side do the business in the Premier League, according to the club's official website.

Tottenham reached the final of the Capital One Cup earlier this week, while they face a last-32 tie with Fiorentina in the Europa League next month.

All the while, Mauricio Pochettino's men have been chasing an elusive top-four spot in the Premier League - and Lamela wants his side to show the requisite aggression in their pursuit of glory.

The Argentine played 75 minutes of Tottenham's League Cup semi-final second leg at Sheffield United and is in contention to continue in Pochettino's line-up this weekend.

“For me, I am happy that I played again on Wednesday as I am still recovering my full fitness," Lamela told Tottenham's official site.

“We need to continue now in the Premier League, to be aggressive and always look to improve."

That starts this afternoon at West Brom, an opponent Lamela is wary of after Tottenham's 1-0 defeat to the Baggies at White Hart Lane earlier this season.

That was the beginning of a mini West Brom resurgence, one that was not to last as boss Alan Irvine eventually lost his job at the Hawthorns. Now, however, Tony Pulis has taken over...

Lamela, though, knows Spurs have also improved - and feels victory today is within their grasp: “All games are difficult so we need to continue to work hard at West Brom. We lost to them at home before but now we are playing better and we know we can win away."
