James Ward-Prowse has expressed his delight at signing a new contract with the club on social media site Twitter.
The attacking midfielder put pen-to-paper on a five and a half year contract, as confirmed by Southampton's official website today and he is clearly happy to have his future sorted.
The 21-year-old says that he wants to kick on after signing the new deal and repay the faith the club have shown in him.
Ward-Prowse's commitment to the future is another example of just how productive that Southampton's youth system has been in recent times.
The Saints are the envy of England with their ability to develop academy prospects into first-team stars and Ward-Prowse appears one of the finest players they have produced.
Blessed with wonderful set-piece taking ability, he also has the class and guile that is so often missing from English players, making him a stand-out and unique talent.
With his future secured, Ward-Prowse will be in a very settled place now and St. Mary's looks the perfect environment for him to fulfil his obvious potential.
