The Southern Daily Echo has reported Southampton boss Ronald Koeman as facing a transfer dilemma ahead of the transfer deadline.
Jack Cork could well have completed his move to Swansea City, which leaves the Dutchman facing a race against time to replace the youngster if he chooses not to go with what he already has in his first team squad.
The Echo claims Koeman didn’t want to do any extra business in the transfer window before the deadline on Monday night, but the Saints boss may now be forced to.
The problem he faces if he feels he needs to sign someone else is the race against time to get a deal done.
The club have to identify a player, negotiate and work out a deal for him before getting him signed up on a long term deal.
The Saints also face the possibility of being held to ransom over any permanent deal they chase because sides they’re trying to buy from can play on the looming deadline and work it to their advantage.
It will be interesting to see which direction Koeman goes in.
