The agent of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba, Mino Raiola, believes Marek Hamsik, who the Mirror has linked to Arsenal, is world class and insists he isn’t making the most of his ability while playing for Napoli.
According to a report in the Corriere dello Sport, football super agent Mino Raiola has high hopes for Slovakian international Marek Hamsik and hinted that while he continues to play for Napoli he won’t ever reach his full potential.
‘’Marek is a great person; an amazing human,’’ said Raiola. ‘’He has a great personality and as a player he is very close to Pavel Nedved.
‘’If he leaves Napoli, he would be able to play for any team in the world. If I had to recommend a player, it would be Hamsik. The problem is that [Napoli owner] Aurelio De Laurentiis does not want to sell him because he seems him as a talisman and has great affection for him.
‘’I am convinced that Hamsik is not taking advantage of his full talents. He has the ability to be one of the four best footballers in the world.’’
This season, despite playing in the majority of Napoli’s games, Hamsik hasn’t been at his very best and it has shown in his statistics. So far this term, the 27-year-old has scored only two and created four in 18 appearances – a record that is unlikely to turn heads.
Would Hamsik be a good choice for Arsenal?
At 27, it seems unlikely Arsenal would be willing to spend the money needed to sign the Slovakian international and considering the options already at the Emirates, there is very little need for them to do so.
Although he would fit into the system Wenger plays well, he represents a gamble that, in the past, the French manager has been unwilling to take.
