The Northern Echo has reported that Papiss Cisse will fly back to the UK and link up with his Newcastle United teammates today.
The striker is due back at the club after the African Cup of Nations and he’ll provide manager John Carver with a different option at the top of the team.
The Echo has carried quotes from Carver where he criticised the Senegalese FA for not helping the club in relation to the matter, but he looks set to provide another option against Hull.
The big decision Carver has to make is whether to risk Cisse from the start or whether to slot him into the squad as an impact player.
There is a chance that he could be affected by the travelling involved in getting back to the UK, which would leave him feeling a little wary ahead of the contest against the Tigers.
However, Cisse has the potential to turn matches and with Newcastle wary of slipping down further in the bottom half of the Premier League table, Carver may well simply throw him into the line-up.
