Ravel Morrison has posted the photo above to his Instagram account and as such looks set for a move to Serie A side Lazio.

The troubled England under-21 man has not been far from controversy in his young career to date, with stints at Manchester United and West Ham United seeing him fail to live up to his considerable promise.

Once described by Sir Alex Ferguson as the best 14 year old he had ever seen, Morrison’s off-field antics and ill-discipline have seen him clash heads with team-mates and managers.

At times his ability has been more than clear; at the start of last season the versatile midfielder was a revelation at West Ham, with his superlative individual goal against Tottenham at White Hart Lane sticking out in the memory.

However, despite his talent, Morrison’s mindset has prevented him from being the star he is capable of evolving into.

When he left Manchester, a change of scenery was deemed as a positive thing but didn’t stop Morrison from getting side-tracked.

Now, with a huge opportunity in Italy, the playmaker must knuckle down and focus on his career, putting distractions behind him.

The switch to the Stadio Olimpico could well be the saving grace of Morrison’s career, but if he ends up with the same disciplinary issues in Rome it would be a monumental waste of talent.
