The 23-year-old completed a move to the Eagles yesterday afternoon.
During a campaign in which the Bluebirds fell short in the top flight, ultimately suffering relegation, Mutch impressed with his creativity going forward.
This term, however, a campaign that has seen QPR sit in the relegation zone for its majority, has not seen a similar return from the 23-year-old. His season has been hampered by injuries but his form, too, has been poor even when Mutch has been fit enough to start games.
As such, the R's cut short his west London tenure yesterday, shifting him out to Crystal Palace in a deal that could see them recoup the money they spent on him.
As always, reaction to the news has been somewhat mixed - but mainly due to a difference of opinion between both sets of fans. QPR supporters appear largely pleased with the sale, although Crystal Palace fans feel it represents good business - as Mutch may just thrive with the Eagles where he couldn't with the R's.
The Crystal Palace faithful are also delighted that Shola Ameobi has signed and, along with their other January signings, they feel Mutch could add plenty of value at Selhurst Park. Here's a selection of some of the best Twitter reaction to the deal...
Not fair/accurate 2 say we 'lost' Mutch. Chose 2 sell. Sometimes it just doesn't work out at certain clubs. Doesn't make him bad player #qpr— Oliver James George (@OliverGeorge84) January 30, 2015
The shame about Mutch and Phillips if he goes as well is that they are good championship players which is what we need. #qpr— Jeremy Harrod (@JezzaH99) January 30, 2015
Seen too many R's saying Mutch is 23 and has so much potential and is a young player for the future etc. Sandro is 25 - Benchmark. #QPR— QPR Tweets (@QPR_Tweets) January 29, 2015
Sanogo, Mutch, Ameobi and Souare make up a very solid set of signings for us. Good business from Pards & Stevie P #cpfc— Gweb (@GFWebber) January 29, 2015
