Leeds new boy Granddi Ngoyi has mixed it with the very best.
Leeds United new boy Granddi Ngoyi will not be daunted by the Championship, for he has played against the world's very best.
He may not have realised at the time, but when he lined up against Mesut Ozil in 2007, the German would go onto become an acclaimed global superstar.
The picture above is from 2007, when Ozil and Ngoyi went head-to-head in midfielder as France's under-19 side took on the Germans in a European Championship qualifying match.
Part of the same squad as Ngoyi were Wolves' Bakary Sako, and Blackburn's Rudy Gestede, while Germany's boasted members of their current World Cup winning squad Benedikt Howedes and Jerome Boateng.
This particular game ended 1-1, with Ozil scoring for the Germans and both teams qualifying from the group phase, but failing to reach the final.
He is not the only top star Ngoyi has matched up against, the picture on the right shows the Frenchman tackling Atletico Madrid sensation and current Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, while lining up for PSG in a pre-season friendly tournament.
His career may not have worked out as well as the Argentine or Ozil, but his presence in the young France side underlines how highly rated he once was, and should still have the talent to mix it very capably in the Championship with the right application.
Fellow new boy Sol Bamba is no stranger to big names either, pictured below tackling Real Madrid's Karim Benzema during a pre-season friendly for Leicester City.
This weekend will see an entirely different proposition when the Leeds duo face Huddersfield Town, but despite making their debuts in the derby, expect the pair to be anything but daunted.
