Manchester United morning round-up: Club reportedly confident of landing Clyne in summer

A round up of news stories this morning related to Manchester United.

The Daily Mirror reports Manchester United are confident of doing a deal for Nathaniel Clyne in the summer.

The Saints right-back is reportedly a target for the club after impressing on the south coast this season.

He would follow Luke Shaw in joining from the Saints if United are able to do a deal in the near future.

The Daily Star has carried quotes from Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte where he’s played down a move to the Premier League.

The paper reports United as one of the sides interested in him with Louis van Gaal looking to improve his defensive options.

The Star states that a fee of £31 million would be needed for him to follow Ander Herrera to the club, but any deal seems unlikely until the summer.

The Daily Mail reports that ex-Manchester United striker Diego Forlan has been offered to West Brom and Hull on loan deals.

The 35-year-old struggled during his time at Old Trafford but is a fan favourite for a performance against Liverpool away at Anfield during his time with the club.
