Liverpool morning round-up: Sturridge makes prediction over Gerrard return

A round up of news stories this morning related to Liverpool.

NBC Sports has quoted Daniel Sturridge as making a prediction over the long term future of Steven Gerrard.

Sturridge expects Gerrard to return to the club at some point in the future and become the club’s manager.

Gerrard has previously announced that he’ll be moving to LA Galaxy at the end of the club’s current campaign.

Brendan Rodgers has been quoted by the Daily Mail suggesting Daniel Sturridge’s return from injury will transform his team.

Sturridge has been out of action with a recurring thigh issue he first picked up while away on international duty with England.

Sturridge could play some part in the Premier League clash against West Ham this weekend.

The Liverpool Echo has reported that the Reds could make a late move to try and sign Danny Ings from Burnley.

Brendan Rodgers is reportedly a big admirer of the 22-year-old whose contract expires at the end of the season.

The Echo claims Liverpool would loan him back to Burnley if they managed to do a deal.
