Companion app for Turtle Rock’s upcoming 4 on 1 shooter has you playing match-three puzzles to pass the time and earn perks for the main game
Out now for mobile devices is a companion app for the much-hyped upcoming asymmetric shooter Evolve.
Entitled Evolve: Hunters Quest, the app is a match-three puzzler in which, as the name suggests, you need to match three or more colours to move through the game. As well as serving as an Evolve themed distraction to keep you going when you’re on the go, Evolve: Hunters Quest gives you the chance to earn Mastery Boosts for your hunters in the main game.
“Playing Hunters Quest will let players earn Mastery Boosts that will be applied to their Hunter character profile in Evolve on both their console and PC,” write 2K. “An example of this would be that you unlock Markov’s Lightning Gun Mastery Boost via Hunters Quest. Once you unlock the Mastery Boost in the mobile app, this will be saved to your my2K profile. The next time you fire up Evolve, the game will read the Mastery Boost unlock from my2K – and will increase your Mastery progression by close to 50 percent of its total amount.”
Hunters Quest players can also earn themselves unique Evolve artwork by completing objectives within the app. As well as this once Evolve launches you can view overhead replays of matches via Hunters Quest. Check out the video below to learn more.
Hunters Quest is out now for free on iOS, Android, Amazon and Windows Phone. The main game launches worldwide on February 10th for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
