Newcastle United boss John Carver has revealed to the Sunderland Echo the only way Moussa Sissoko will leave the club before the end of the current transfer window.
With the deadline looming on Monday, Carver has suggested what any side interested in the attacker needs to do to buy him from the club.
“Unless somebody came in with an exceptional offer, and it has to be something exceptional, he’ll be playing for this football club. Don’t worry about that,” said Carver.
The Echo reports Arsenal and French giants Paris Saint-Germain as the two main sides interested in taking him away from Newcastle.
Both of those clubs have the resources to be able to pull off big deals though it’s doubtful either will move before the summer.
Arsene Wenger arguably prefers to do his big business in the summer while there has been no concrete offer put forward by PSG.
For Sissoko, the job is simple; carry on working hard in a Newcastle shirt and assess things at the end of the season.
Things could be different in the summer and if Arsenal don’t manage to qualify for the Champions League, that hands the advantage to PSG or there’s even a chance he could stay put if Newcastle pull off Europa League qualification by the end of the campaign.
