From Software’s new PS4 exclusive will be coming with procedurally generated dungeon crawls.
A new trailer from Sony has been released for the upcoming gore-drenched action RPG, Bloodborne that takes a look at the Chalice Dungeons to feature in the game.
Chalice Dungeons take place in underground ruins amid Bloodborne’s city of Yharnam, Players gain entry to the dungeons with holy chalices and can take them on solo or teamed up with others to earn rewards.
To give players a bit of variety Chalice Dungeons will use a roguelike. procedurally generated system to make each new challenge different. Like all good dungeon crawls the path to victory is littered with traps and all manner of evil beasties, as the video testifies.
Chalice Dungeons first got a mention back in December with Bloodborne’s producer Masaaki Yamagiwa noting at the time. Chalice Dungeons add a ton of additional content and replay value to the depth and richness of the full game itself, and can even be uploaded for other people to try out. Sony has also revealed that a special-edition Bloodborne PS4 bundle will be on sale in the UK when the game launches which is the 27th March, North America will be getting the game on the 24th March.
