Bild: Bayern Munich say no to Man United-linked Marco Reus

Marco Reus

The German newspaper has stated that the Bavarians have opted against a move for the in-demand Borussia Dortmund attacker.

Premier League suitors of Borussia Dortmund’s prodigious talent Marco Reus may well have received a boost in their pursuit of the star, if a report in Bild is to believed.

Although other top English clubs have been linked with a move for the Germany international, Manchester United are the British team most consistently mentioned as wanting Reus.

The German newspaper have today stated that Bayern Munich will not enter the race for the former Borussia Monchengladbach this summer.

Bild runs the headline “Bayern says no to Reus”, with an indication that Pep Guardiola’s men will look to sign other targets instead in the summer.

With Dortmund struggling at the bottom end of the Bundesliga table and looking increasingly unlikely to be able to qualify for next season’s Champions League, some of their prize assets will surely be eyed up by foreign suitors.

The Bavarians have already taken Mario Gotze and Robert Lewandowski from the Signal Iduna Park club in the past.

Although other big European sides will surely be interested, taking Bayern out of the equation will surely help Premier League suitors.

United have a number of high-profile attackers but are expected to make a splash in the transfer market this summer to continue their search for silverware.
