Sky Sports confirmed the news that Leeds United have a new director in the form of Giampaolo Caboni.
Andrew Umbers was names as Leeds United chairman when Massimo Cellino resigned and Caboni’s appointment at the club is part of the reshuffle after Cellino left his position as the club’s president.
Here are five facts about Leeds’ latest director.
He’s a 61-year-old Italian executive according to Sky’s report.
He worked with Cellino when the pair were together at Cagliari in Italy.
He is one of seven directors on the Leeds United board alongside Cellino’s two sons.
It will be interesting to see how much influence Caboni exerts on the board because his appointment following Cellino’s exit would suggest the Italian is keen to retain his influence at Elland Road.
It’s an extremely testing time for the club, with first team boss Neil Redfearn under pressure to drag the side up the table and away from the Championship relegation places.
Sky’s report also confirms that Cellino is likely to take up his position as the club’s owner and president this coming April.
