Tottenham Hotspur's Benjamin Stambouli's performances for the club are continuing to improve each week.
The Frenchman was imperious against Sheffield United last night and he is beginning to show exactly why Spurs brought him to White Hart Lane over the summer.
Stambouli made a slow start to his Tottenham career, but his discipline and power have been on full display more recently and he is starting to establish a position for himself in Mauricio Pochettino's starting line-up.
Stambouli had appeared to fall down the pecking order at the North London club, but with Nabil Bentaleb away at the Africa Cup of Nations he has really stepped up and taken his chance.
It means that when Bentaleb does return, his place may be under threat and Pochettino will be given a selection dilemma.
Although Stambouli does not possess the energy or mobility of the Algerian, he does offer more strength in the middle and that could be key for Spurs as the season progresses.
For now, though, the 24-year-old will simply be looking to continue putting in high class performances because he is starting to make his price tag - which was reported as £4.7 million by the Daily Mail - look like a bargain.
