Manchester United star gives insight into Falcao’s frame of mind in England

Antonio Valencia told MUTV that Radamel Falcao has settled quickly in England and is enjoying life at Manchester United.

Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia has told MUTV that Radamel Falcao, Angel di Maria and Marcos Rojo have settled quickly in Manchester and are loving every minute of playing for the club.

Last week, in an interview with Colombian radio station LAFM, football super agent Jorge Mendes told listeners that the 28-year-old was unhappy with his current situation in England.

‘’I do not understand [why Falcao doesn’t play more for United],’’ Jorge Mendes told LAFM. ‘’It doesn’t depend on Falcao [whether he plays or not], it depends on the club.

‘’I know there are people in the club who are happy with Falcao, but he is not happy with the situation he is in.’’

However, Valencia cooled rumours over his teammate's unhappiness to MUTV and stressed to the club’s official television channel that the former Atletico Madrid man was settled in England and was happy.

‘’Angel, Rojo and Falcao are terrific: they’ve all settled quickly into the group and I think they’re all really enjoying life here,’’ Valencia was quoted in the Manchester Evening News.

‘’We’ve got a top bunch of lads with Anderson, Rafael and all the English lads too. We all get along really well – [the atmosphere] is great but it’s always been great here.’’

So far this season, although blighted by injuries, the Colombian hitman has every right to be disappointed with his impact.

Prior to his arrival at Manchester, Falcao had netted an impressive 83 goals in his last 112 appearances at club level. However, for Louis van Gaal’s side, he has only managed a meagre three goals in 13 Premier League appearances – a rate of less than one goal every four games.

If he is to become a success with the 20-time Premier League winners then he will need to hit the back of the net at his usual frightening rate in the second half of the season.
