Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier has high praise for Tottenham Hotspur hero Christian Eriksen

The Dane was the hero as Tottenham clawed their way into the Capital One Cup final.

Last night Tottenham Hotspur survived a scare to draw 2-2 with Sheffield United at Brammall Lane and win their Capital One Cup semi-final 3-2 on aggregate.

There was no doubting who the hero was for the Spurs faithful. Christian Eriksen was sensational for Spurs and not for the first time this season he scored a late goal to save Tottenham's blushes.

He opened the scoring with a fantastic free kick and then pushed a calm left foot finish beyond Mark Howard in the Blades goal after being sent through by Harry Kane in the 87th minute.

His performance certainly impressed Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier.

The one-club man, who now works as a TV pundit and commentator, was a similar style of player to Eriksen and was clearly impressed with his performance. So much so, he thinks his beloved Champions League chasing Southampton should make a move for the player:

Of course his comment was tongue in cheek. However, it goes to show the envy wit which other clubs and their fans are looking on at Tottenham as the Danish superstar continues to save Spurs time and time again this season.
