Chelsea will be determined to play well and increase their lead at the top of the Premier League when they take on Manchester City this weekend.

The Blues battled their way into the League Cup final after a win against Liverpool, which went some way to ensuring they got over their FA Cup heartbreak at the hands of Bradford.

Jose Mourinho will know the importance of this game in terms of the title run-in and will stress the need for the Blues to make the most of their home advantage.

Manchester City will be facing an eight point gap if they don’t win this weekend and they will be without Yaya Toure and Wilfried Bony who remain away at the African Cup of Nations with the Ivory Coast.

Manager Manuel Pellegrini has had a week to reflect on his team going out of the FA Cup at the hands of Middlesbrough and it will be interesting to see what sort of approach they take into this game.

If they sit back and try to absorb the pressure, Chelsea have the players who could make the difference.

Here are the potential teams for each side.

Chelsea: Courtois, Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta, Willian, Matic, Mikel, Oscar, Hazard, Drogba

Manchester City: Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Demichelis, Clichy, Milner, Fernando, Lampard, Fernandinho, Silva, Aguero
