Leeds latest: Pearce reportedly accepts personal terms, new signings given squad numbers

Leeds United East Stand

Jason Pearce appears set to join Wigan Athletic.

A round-up of the latest Leeds United news.

Jason Pearce transfer progresses

Leeds captain Jason Pearce appears poised to complete his transfer to Wigan Athletic. The Mail reported late last night that the defender has accepted the personal terms on offer, and is expected to join the Latics shortly.

Pearce has falled out of favour at Leeds, and is seemingly fourth choice in the pecking order behind Liam Cooper, Giuseppe Bellusci and new signing Sol Bamba.

Scott Wootton's re-emergence into Neil Redfearn's plans also provides extra cover, with the defender filling in at right-back in recent games.

Rodolph Austin to join him?

Midfielder Rodolph Austin could join Pearce in moving to Leeds, although there are conflicting reports as to how far along an agreement is.

Goal.com report there is a double deal agreed for Pearce and Austin, while The Mail write that Austin has been added to the proposal, but there is no suggestion he has agreed personal terms like the defender.

Leeds assign new squad numbers

Leeds have assigned squad numbers to their new loan additions. The club website confirmed defender Sol Bamba has taken the number three shirt vacated by Stephen Warnock after his sale to Derby, while midfielder Granddi Ngoyi will wear the number 10, previously worn by Noel Hunt prior to his release.

Leonardo Pavoletti to Chievo

The long running saga relating to Leonardo Pavoletti's future is coming to a close, report Italian website Tuttomercatoweb

The striker was flown into Leeds in December, reported GianlucadiMarzio.com, to view the facilities and watch their game to Wigan, a 2-0 loss.

Now the latest TMW report states he has accepted a loan move to Chievo, with Sassuolo set to bring in Slovenian forward Dejan Lazarevic in exchange.
