The Leeds midfielders have been in good form recently.
Leeds United take on Huddersfield this weekend in a Yorkshire Derby and go into the game in form. They are unbeaten in four and beat top of the league Bournemouth last week.
One of the reasons behind their excellent form has been the performances of Luke Murphy. The central midfielder has scored two goals in his last two league games and has shown a real upturn in form recently.
Murphy has struggled to find his best form since joining the club and he was recently out of contention from the first team.
But Neil Redfearn has happily given those willing to train hard a chance in the first team and today, in his press conference, he revealed his pleasure at the recent performances of the midfielder as he also bigged up the potential of Murphy to be a leader in the current team:
Redfearn: "You've got people now who fought for their places & got it. If you play well & we win, you stay in." #lufc— Leeds United FC (@LUFC) January 29, 2015
Redfearn hails the "excellent" Luke Murphy: "We're starting to see the potential from we first signed him. There's a leader in him." #lufc— Leeds United FC (@LUFC) January 29, 2015
His central midfield partner has been Lewis Cook in recent times. The talented youngster has been in fantastic form this season. That form has seen Leeds try to secure his future at Elland Road, with the Daily Star reporting at the start of the month that the club had offered him a new contract.
And Redfearn says that Cook loves the club and has praised the temperament of the teenager.
