Jan Vertonghen admits he always thought Christian Eriksen could score a late winner as long as he was on the pitch during Tottenham's Capital One Cup semi-final second leg against Sheffield United, according to Tottenham's official Twitter feed.
Vertonghen, just like Kyle Walker (above), heaped praise on the 22-year-old Dane and his remarkable ability to score crucial late goals.
On this occasion, Spurs would have progressed to the League Cup final anyway - but Eriksen's late goal made sure of that fact.
Tottenham had taken a first-half lead, again through the talented midfielder, but saw Che Adams score twice for Sheffield United.
As Walker said after the game, though, the north London side are delighted to have made it past the League One side - much thanks to their Danish hero.
Vertonghen, meanwhile, said he thought Eriksen would be capable of scoring late on after Sheffield United took the lead on the night.
The Belgian is also now looking forward to the Capital One Cup final, when Tottenham will once again face Chelsea, this time at Wembley.
Spurs recently beat the Premier League leaders 5-3 at White Hart Lane and Vertonghen is aiming for a repeat against Jose Mourinho's men.
