Bakary Sako returning to Wolves after Afcon 2015 exit with Mali

The winger was on the wrong end of drawn lots with Guinea.

The African Cup of Nations has delved into farce today after a drawing of lots confirmed who would join Ivory Coast in qualifying from Group D of the competition.

Guinea and Mali drew 1-1 yesterday, with goals from Kevin Constant and Modibo Maiga seeing the two teams share the spoils - as Seydou Keita missed a penalty for Mali.

The two nations drew all of their games in the group 1-1 so they could not be separated by points, goal difference, goals scored or goals conceded, therefore lots were drawn and Guinea advance.

The fact the two teams played each other yesterday and could have gone to extra-time or penalties to see he qualified was erroneous, the rules are lots will be drawn and Guinea have come out on top.

One Championship team who will not be complaining however are Wolverhampton Wanderers. Mali winger Bakary Sako is one of Wolves' star players and his return will be welcomed by everyone at Molineux.

It would certainly seem that he will not be back in time to be in contention for Wolves fixture with Bolton on Saturday, but his early return will till boost the club.

Sako scored one goal at the competition.
