With West Bromwich Albion confirming the £4.75 million capture of Callum McManaman from Wigan Athletic, fans have been taking to Twitter to give their take on the move.
McManaman, 23, arrives at the Hawthorns having netted five goals in 23 Championship games over the first half of the campaign, with the Baggies beating off interest from a number of top-flight rivals to his signature.
Penning a deal until 2018, with an option for a further 12 months, the versatile winger told the club’s official website: "I'm really made up to have joined. When the chance came to move to West Bromwich Albion, and return to the Premier League, I couldn't turn it down.
"This is a great move for me and I hope the Albion fans will get to see the best of me. Albion are a great club, with a good tradition. I can't wait to get going."
Head coach Tony Pulis added on the first signing of his tenure: “I’m delighted we’ve got Callum and I believe he will be an exciting addition to our numbers.
“Callum is a player who can improve our options and I am really looking forward to working with him.”
A former Everton trainee, McMananman joined Wigan in 2007 following his release from Goodison Park, before going on to score 17 times in 109 total appearances during his time at the Lancashire club.
Named man of the match in the Latics’ shock 1-0 win over Manchester City in the 2013 FA Cup final, the former England Under-20 international showed a great deal of promise during his previous Premier League stint, and West Brom fans will hope his arrival can provide their faltering attack with an extra spark.
Having been waiting for the official confirmation of his capture since the start of the week, here are some of the best reactions.
On his day Callum McManaman can terrorize defenders, he absolutely tore Gael Clichy apart in the famous FA Cup final. Has bags of pace #wba— Tom and Dan (@TomDanOracles) January 28, 2015
Thought the fee for Mcmanaman was a little large but didn't realise he was 23. Let's hope he can play like he did in that 1 cup game. #wba— Joseph Jackson (@Barnaby1996) January 28, 2015

Clearly Anthony Pulis spent his time off watching repeats of the 2013 FA Cup Final as McManaman hasn't lifted a finger for Wigan since #WBA— Daniel McCulloch (@danmcc84) January 28, 2015
Very pleased McManaman deal over the line. Might not be prolific, but he'll be a success if he's half as good as his pal Jason Koumas! #wba— Joe Chapman (@ChapmanJ92) January 28, 2015
