Aston Villa and Ipswich Town fans react to Darren Bent's two-goal cameo

Darren Bent scored the two goals as Derby County beat Blackburn Rovers 2-0 to move second in the Championship

Ipswich Town and Aston Villa fans had their say on Twitter following Darren Bent's two-goal cameo on his home league debut for Derby County.

The on-loan Villa man stole the show for Steve McClaren's side on Tuesday night as he helped the Rams move above Brentford, Middlesbrough and Ipswich Town in the league table and on to the same amount of points as leaders Bournemouth, as the fight for automatic promotion continues to intensify.

Derby were made to work hard for their victory against Blackburn despite dominating possession for large periods of the match, and the game remained goalless up until the hour-mark at which time McClaren decided to call upon the services of the Villa loanee.

It took Bent all of five minutes to make his mark as he was able to get on the end of a goalmouth scramble and back-heel the ball into the left side of the goal to give the Rams the lead.

Blackburn then turned up the pressure on Derby, however, a piece of magic from 18-year-old Mason Bennett on the left wing crafted the chance which saw the former England striker net his third goal of the week.

After the match, despite the majority of praise going to the influential Will Hughes for his performance, the deadly two-goal cameo from Darren Bent couldn't be ignored and Aston Villa and Ipswich Town fans, in particular, were very vocal about his impact for Derby on Twitter.
