According to Sport Bild in Germany, Liverpool are interested in signing Hannover playmaker Leonardo Bittencourt - but so are his former club, Borussia Dortmund.
Bittencourt, 21, was born in Germany but could also play for Brazil through his father, even though he's 16 appearances for the Germany Under-19 and Under-21 sides in recent years.
Having made just five appearances for Dortmund, Bittencourt left Signal Iduna Park for Bundesliga rivals Hannover, and has started to show some of the promise which makes him so highly rated.
Four goals and five assists in 31 appearances last season was a decent return from the diminutive playmaker, whilst this season he's hit one goal and two assists in the Bundesliga.
The diminutive midfielder will likely draw comparisons to current Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho, with Bittencourt possessing great speed, dribbling ability and close control in the final third.
Sport Bild suggest that, if Dortmund don't make a bid to re-sign Bittencourt either now or in the summer, Liverpool could swoop in to take him to Anfield.
Fans may want a new striker, but it appears that Bittencourt is on Brendan Rodgers' radar - even with playmakers like Coutinho and Adam Lallana still at the club.
