Predicted Southampton line-up to play Swansea: Elia to start

St Marys Southampton

Match between Southampton and Swansea City to be played on Sunday 1st February 2015 at 16:00. Venue: St. Mary's Stadium, Southampton.

Southampton welcome Swansea City to St Mary’s on Sunday with Ronald Koeman’s side still flying high in the Premier League.

The Saints are currently third in the table, two points clear of Manchester United and five points away from second-placed Manchester City.

Southampton crashed out of the FA Cup last weekend in one of many shocks, but that could ultimately be a blessing in disguise if they maintain their place in the top four and secure a Champions League place as a result.

There is still plenty of football to be played before that happens, and the Saints will not have it easy against an impressive Swansea side that is currently ninth in the table and with lofty aspirations of their own.

Southampton are without defender Toby Alderweireld due to a hamstring injury while midfielder Victor Wanyama is also side-lined.

Morgan Schneiderlin has been tipped to return soon but this match may come too quickly for the Frenchman.

Shane Long is also out with a rib injury while Sadio Mane is a doubt due to fatigue and below is the side we predict Koeman to pick on Sunday:

Predicted Southampton starting line-up: Forster, Clyne, Fonte, Gardos, Bertrand, Davis, Reed, Ward-Prowse, Tadic, Elia, Pelle
