Tottenham Hotspur legend Ossie Ardiles has told talkSPORT the only approach from Mauricio Pochettino against Sheffield United should be to field his strongest team.
Ardiles believes that a Wembley final being 90 minutes away means the Spurs boss will take the match against the Blades this evening extremely seriously.
“I believe Tottenham should play with the A-Team. We are one step from Wembley,” he said.
“Pochettino certainly knows the importance of Wembley and the importance of being in a final, so I hope he will play the best team.”
“I hope we have a very good result - I've told him already.”
Tottenham are in good shape heading into this evening because they hold a 1-0 lead after the first game between the teams at White Hart Lane.
Pochettino is likely to play his best team and if they perform as well as they can do, they should have too much quality for their opponents.
The time will come later in the season for the boss to make changes and rotate, but right now Spurs are facing their biggest match of the season considering what’s at stake.
Every part of the team has to fire this evening, because Sheffield United are going to be fired up and full on as they look to get a crack against Chelsea in the final.
If Tottenham play their best team and don’t win then there only excuse can be that they were beaten by the better side.
