Arsenal's record signing sent a welcome message to the club's newest recruit.
Mesut Ozil sent a message of congratulations to new Arsenal signing Gabriel Paulista upon his arrival at the club.
The Brazilian defender's switch from Villareal was confirmed by Arsenal's official website on Wednesday afternoon.
Ozil also included his best wishes for Costa Rican international Joel Campbell who headed to the La Liga side on loan as part of the deal.
Gabriel Paulista is Arsenal's second signing of the transfer window, following teenage midfielder Krystian Bielik who signed from Legia Warsaw.
He is a much-needed addition in defence, an area which was badly exposed earlier in the season with injuries.
Mathieu Debuchy was required to cover there instead of right-back when he was fit, but he again is out until April with a dislocated shoulder. Arsenal had failed to replace Thomas Vermaelen in the summer after selling him to Barcelona, and Paulista gives them an important option heading into a crucial phase of the campaign.
His squad number is yet to be confirmed, but it is expected he will take Vermaelen's number five shirt which has remained vacant.
