Patch 2.5 brings new content to the game which you can check out for free if you’ve played the game and marched on.
A recent patch update for the MMO Final Fantasy XIV:A Realm Reborn, entitled Before the Fall (part 1) has brought new content to the game, and for those who have played but moved away are being given a free trial this weekend to see if it can pique their interests again.
Square Enix is offering the chance for past subscribers to play A Realm Reborn free from Friday 30th January to February 2nd February. To take up the offer you must have previously bought and registered for Final Fantasy XIV and have an inactive account during the period.
Amongst the new game content brought in with patch 2.5 are new story quests, new Hildibrand quests, three dungeons, a hard mode of the Gilgamesh encounter and a Primal fight against Odin. With update 2.51, Chocobo Racing, the Gold Saucer and Triple Triad are also due.
Furthermore, A Realm Reborn's first expansion, Heavensward, is due this spring which will up the level cap, add three new jobs, new areas and flying mounts.
