Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier has suggested to the club’s website why his side need to be wary against Sheffield United this evening.
Dier has highlighted the Blades’ home support as a potential problem for Spurs, as they go into the game looking to defend and build on a 1-0 lead.
“We saw last week that their fans really got behind their team and I’m sure with a full stadium of their supporters this time it’s going to be hard,” said Dier.
“We’re going to have to be at our best if we’re going to get through.”
It will be an intimidating evening because Sheffield United are still in the game and that gives their fans plenty to be excited about.
The way Spurs can take any sting out of the atmosphere is by approaching the game in the right manner, starting well and trying to register an early goal.
If they double their advantage early on, it instantly makes Sheffield United’s job more difficult and will silence a crowd, which will be rocking before the game.
Tottenham’s team shouldn’t be too affected by a loud crowd because they have played in plenty more intimidating places across the Premier League and away in the Europa League.
If Spurs are at their best, they’ll win. If they turn up and look off the pace then an upset is on the cards and the players should be determined to stop that from happening.
