Huddersfield Town star Conor Coady admits his team are on the hunt for revenge over Leeds United.

Huddersfield Town star Conor Coady has suggested to the Yorkshire Post that his team are out for revenge against Leeds United this weekend.

Leeds won the first derby between these sides earlier in the season 3-0 and Coady has revealed how Huddersfield took the defeat to heart, which has created a determination for them to react in the right way.

“They did not see the real Huddersfield Town at Elland Road. We have spoken about it before and we hated it as a club, as a team,” said Coady.

“It was the worst day of the season by a country mile so, for us, it is about amending the errors that we made at Elland Road.”

“It is massive for the fans and the good things for us is that all the lads know how much it hurt us as a team and what a massive downer it was on the season so, hopefully, we can put things right.”

It won’t be an easy game for Huddersfield this weekend because Leeds will have plenty of confidence after a win against Championship leaders Bournemouth in their last match.

They can use the determination to react to the 3-0 defeat to their advantage and it does suggest a potential game plan Chris Powell’s team could take into the match.

Huddersfield will be wary of Leeds being inspired by that Bournemouth win, which could prompt them to start the game cautiously, defend well and gradually take control of the key areas.

Powell needs his big players in key areas of the pitch to win their individual battles, which will make a difference.

Leeds could also be using one or two new players for the first time and Huddersfield are well placed to exploit any lack of understanding and confusion in front of the back four.

Keep things tight, attack well and Huddersfield have a great chance of getting that revenge.
