Report: Matt Jarvis wanted by Cardiff

The West Ham winger could be a target for the Championship side.

Cardiff City have made an offer for West Ham United winger Matt Jarvis, according to the Mirror.

The 28-year-old has fallen out of favour at Upton Park, making just six appearances this season as the Hammers have surged up the table and found no place for him.

That has alerted a number of clubs to his availability, with West Brom boss Tony Pulis being credited with an interest, although he has now gone for Wigan’s Callum McManaman whom is a cheaper option to Jarvis.

That would apparently leave the way clear for Russel Slade to bring the winger to Cardiff, who are looking to bolster their squad during the January transfer window.

West Ham are believed to be willing to let several players leave the club before the close of the window on Monday, as they look to free up space on their wage bill for the potential signing of Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher.

Jarvis originally joined the club in a £10.75 million deal from Wolves three years ago, and has two and a half years remaining on his current contract.
