The 19-year-old recently returned to Anfield after a succesful loan spell at Championship side Derby County, where he made 24 appearances, scoring five goals and providing one assist in that time.
Ibe returned to the Liverpool senior side with a five-minute cameo against Aston Villa earlier this month, and such is his talent that he is sure to feature more often in the weeks and months to come.
Speaking about what Ibe’s spell at Derby did for the player, Rodgers said, “He has come back improved because of the experiences.
“We’ve got a number of other young players that, over the next couple of years, will get the chance to come in and develop and Jordon will be one of them.”
Ibe is one of the most highly-rated young players on Liverpool’s books and form and fitness depending he is likely to blossom in the coming campaigns.
Liverpool have shown with the likes of Raheem Sterling, Jon Flanagan and Philippe Coutinho that if you are good enough you are old enough, and Ibe has certainly proved he deserves more chances both this season and beyond.
